I just can't get enough. Even though J is still in Haiti, I'm cooking like every night is a dinner party. Chalk it up to a combination of irrational exuberance and poor judgment. Here is a basic stir-fry from just before my trip to oregon, step by step:
This broccoli needed to be used before I left, and had been in the fridge for a couple days, so it got an icewater bath to perk up a little while I knocked out the other ingredients.
Green peppers: a little boring, sure, but organic, and fairly cheap.
Carrots: ditto my comments on the green peppers. I actually really kind of dislike carrots: I don't much like sweet stuff, and particularly don't much like vegetables to be sweet. But I'm growing to appreciate carrots when prepared in a way that their sugar-y-ness is mitigated.
Obligatory composed shot, with garlic popping in.
This is part of what I was referencing above: stir-frying the carrots makes them more savory-sweet.
With the green peppers added after a couple minutes.
And finally with the broccoli (I apparently failed to take a final picture with the garlic added.)
Pretty tasty, but pretty basic. Stay tuned for more interesting/adventurous food porn!
